Gregory Story

Fort Worth , Texas

Clay

Gregory Story grew up in Sabinal, Texas carefully hiding his artistic inclinations from the prying eyes of his small-town neighbors.

At the first sign of hair on his chest he left for the big city, partying at Texas Christian University, and then The University of Texas at Arlington, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics in 1989.

Over the years, Story has worked in many mediums. His whimsical cabinetry designs are much sought after, as are his mysterious, entrancing oil paintings. His works on paper are bright and energetic, and he is well known for his line of t-shirts from the early 90's. More than anything, Story would prefer to be traveling. Many of the designs and motifs in his works have been picked up from his travels. His favorite place in the world, so far, is Sitges, Spain.

Story is Special Events Coordinator for The Arlington Museum of Art, serves on the steering committee of EASL (the Emergency Artist Support League), and is president of The Fort Worth Art Dealers Association. He lives in Fort Worth with his partner of 5 years, a music education professor.

In January of 2004 Story re-built his studio and returned to his passion - Clay.
