Lee Hallery

IN THE HALLERY

Come see our new Hallery Show featuring Lee School 5th-graders' paintings that were inspired by our very own permanent artist, Joel Sager.  The show will be up until the end of May and the reception on May 28th, at 4pm.

FAREWELL
As many of you know, our fearless leader and the owner of Perlow-Stevens Gallery, Jennifer Perlow announced at the Spring Exhibit opening reception that she had accepted a job in Denver, Colorado at Nine Dot Arts, an Art Consultant Firm. Mrs. Perlow began her position earlier this month, and her family (husband Chris Stevens, Director of Office of Cultural Affairs and daughter, Charlie) will join her in Denver mid-Summer to begin this new chapter in their family's life. It is difficult to over-emphasize how sorely they will be missed, as well as the impact Jennifer single-handedly had on the City of Columbia, the North Village Arts District, and more specifically, the staff here at PS:Gallery. The PS:Crew went well beyond any camaraderie of your typical work environment and became a family enriched by the common thread of a genuinely deep appreciation for art lead and nurtured by Jennifer. It was here an open atmosphere of curiosity and knowledge was fostered by our employer and friend with regard to concepts in contemporary art. We owe Jennifer a debt of gratitude for all these things, and know that she goes onto her new job continuing to carry that tradition of enrichment through the cultural and visual arts. We send you the best of luck and truckloads of love, Jennifer Perlow.
Many have asked what will happen with the gallery. The answer is: we, the staff, are keeping the gallery alive and running. We will continue bringing contemporary artwork to the city of Columbia, and representing to the fullest the artists that created those works. This is the foundation upon which the gallery was built, and we look forward to seeing that through. The current exhibit will run as scheduled through the beginning of July. If you want to know how you can help your favorite local commercial gallery, the answer is come buy art! The best way to ensure PS:Gallery's permanence is to support us through patronizing your favorite represented artist. The current exhibit is a strong show with dynamic appeal and we offer consultation at no additional price. We can help you find that perfect piece of art that you'll love as much as we do.
