Eon Ju Jeon

Eon Ju Jeon was born, raised and educated in Seoul, Korea. After completing her degrees one in Sculpture and one in Painting, she worked as a character designer in a stop motion animation studio. Later, she took a position with the Domo Art Studio where she refined her painting skills and techniques. In 2004, Eon Ju began her travels to Turkey, Greece and Egypt. It was on these journeys that she became inspired to document the mood and character of such remarkably exotic locations.
“I tried to remember the particular feeling that each place elicited in me.” In 2007, Eon Ju traveled with her husband to Florence, Italy as part of an MU Study Abroad Program. There she found new inspiration in the textures and colors of the Florentine cityscape. “I have tried to record these feelings with oil paint on canvas.

She lives with her husband, artist Mark Langeneckert, and their two cats in Columbia while continuing to make paintings and sculpture.
