Mary Beth Shaw is a self-taught painter working in mixed media and collage. Originally from Cincinnati, OH, she lived in San Francisco for five years. The cultural diversity and natural wonders of the Bay Area ignited her artistic process and prompted her to walk away from an 18-year career in the insurance industry to make art her fulltime focus.  She returned to the Midwest in 2003 and now refers to herself as a “Gypsy Artist,” traveling frequently to exhibit her work in fine art fairs around the country.   She also teaches workshops in painting, collage and bookmaking.
